I’m biking across America this summer and taking a picture
of everyone I meet.

A few weeks ago, I was reading The Places I Pee, a hilarious and beautifully written cycling blog documenting one couple’s bike trip from Alaska to Argentina. Their article, "Top 5 reasons to not take a satellite messenger on an international tour”, was particularly useful when we were wondering if we should bring a SPOT tracker on this trip. We ultimately decided to bring one and be responsible diabetics.

On our train ride to Denali National Park today, Chris, a fellow touring cyclist, and I chatted about our journeys while waiting to get coffee in the dining car. When he handed me his business card, my eyes widened.

THE PLACES I PEE! It is truly a small cycling world.

Erik and I spent most of the six-hour train ride chatting with the couple, roaming the aisles for sweet shots of the Alaskan landscape, and feasting on our our food supply.
